Kobe

Hobgoblin Kobe is our newest pub and opened its doors in April of 2008. The port city of Kobe which is in the Kansai region in the south of Japan was chosen for our first venture out of Tokyo because of its cosmopolitan image and its close proximity to Osaka which is only 20 minutes away by local train. The pub is conveniently located in the entertainment area of Kobe and is easy to find as its right next to Sannomiya JR station and is even visible from the platform.

The interior is similar to the Tokyo Hobgoblin’s with most of the fixtures and fittings imported from England. For the drink menu we boast a large and interesting selection of draught beers which include the signatory Hobgoblin ale, hand pumped guest ales, wheat beer, cider and imported and domestic lagers. The food menu offers great examples of home style British cooking with one magazine review recently stating “for sure its the best fish & chips I’ve had in Japan”  other popular dishes are the homemade pies which change daily, the legendary Goblin burger and every Sunday from 3pm we serve a traditional Sunday roast with all the usual trimmings for only 1400 yen.

For entertainment our 8 plasma screens show all major sporting events and can offer sports channels from around the world using cutting edge internet streaming systems so go ahead and challenge us to find your favourite sport or team. Our music system has a library of over 10,000 songs and likewise requests are always welcome. So if it’s a quiet pint, a proper dinner or a party space for up to 100 people then look no further than the Hobgoblin Kobe.
